JUNIOR LEAGUE FORMED
The Mornington Peninsula Football League? is a live body this year. The active work of the executive and of delegates has resulted in the formation of a Junior League and a draw, which is given elsewhere, has been made for a junior competition. At present there are only three teams in the competition, but it is quite possible that other junior teams will be raised and provision has been made to admit them during the season. A premiership pennant will be awarded by the League. Today Frankston juniors will journey to Sorrento to open the competition with a match against the lads of that club. Hastings, the other team in the competition, has the bye, but will meet Frankston at Frankston next Saturday.
The third tier competition was formed to promote younger players from the Peninsula Football Association clubs, to stay with their clubs instead of moving to Peninsula District Football Association clubs.
Only three teams took up the challenge; Hastings, Sorrento and Frankston with Mornington joining after Round 3.
On the 23rd April 1934 the Peninsula District Football Association, the Peninsula Football Association and the Mornington Peninsula Junior Football League amalgamated to form the Mornington Peninsula Football League.
